Our need for sustainability has never been greater. When the headlines are consumed by droughts, floods, storms, landslides, and heat waves, it’s time to change how we’ve “always done things.” The current plight of agriculture in our state has left the land and wildlife crippled after years of abuse and neglect. Seeing these things firsthand, Nick Wallace, Co-Founder, and Chief Farmer at 99 Counties, decided to make a change.
I’m adamant about supporting the doers. Anyone can sit idle on the sidelines and complain about the current situation or lack of solutions. The people who see a problem and create a solution to that problem are the ones whom I admire. Nick Wallace is just that type of person.
What started as a dream has transformed into a delivery system to get hungry people locally sourced, sustainable food straight from the family farm. The regenerative farming processes being implemented improve agricultural systems that have been in place for decades.
The hope is to create a movement of forward-thinking people who are conscious of where their food comes from and care about the future of our planet, and those are both things I can advocate for!
